Petition: Suicide
You only need to read the pvp forum right here on gwg to see how frequently 'getting stuck' is occuring, especially on the new guild halls.
Unless all the clipping issues are fixed, a /suicide command sure wouldn't go astray.
To stop abuse, you could have it function like so:
1. User types /suicide
2. A timer begins (15 seconds or something)
3. If you perform an action within those 30 seconds, the timer stops and suicide and suicide is cancelled. Same goes if you are attacked. This'll should stop people suiciding for an unfair advantage.
4. You get the DP and will respawn as if you'd been killed normally.
I'm not sure how much of an issue it is pve with cut scenes and zoning being a work-around, but in pvp it is a REAL pain in the ass.
So I ask, do you think there is a need for some sort of suicide mechanic? And what is your opinion on how it should work?

That would be nice. Getting stuck sucks and I dont want to waste one of my weapon slots on a vamp weapon when i could have something else there.

how about you cant suicide if you are maintaining minions? something else i forgot if you suicide no one should be able to exploit your corpse, it would blow up in a no damage putrid style.

Seeing that the problem is pretty much only around PvP, PvE has no much use for it anyways, unless it can be used to kill henchies :P

They can already enter the random arenas and quit if they want.

Alternate suggestion: /stuck
Starts a 10 second timer, during which your effective armor drops to zero and all your skills are disabled. At end of timer, you are shadowstepped to nearby random location ala Viper's Defense. Your then can't move from that spot and your skills are disabled for another 10 seconds.
That should prevent abuse. In PvE, your team can wait 20 seconds for you to get free (that's a lot faster than the slow death of a vamp weapon) and in PvP there would be no tactical advantage to using it if you weren't stuck (the rules for not shadow stepping through locked doors, etc. should remain in place.)

What i ment by it was you enter an arena somone /suicide, A team member resses him he does it again they all /ragequit and come complain on various forums to anet that they need to remove it etc. Beside didn't they add a /resign command that did somthing like this already? (of course i could be wrong).

Damn good idea, with the typical penalties in place, no one in there right mind would want to suicide for pvp. Honestly, who WANTS a DP in pvp? In gvg you already can't get rez'd after 60 anyway and damn the map traps!
As far as pve, most of the map traps you can get out of, but i have had several times of being stuck in the landscape. There really isn't any good way to go about it there. Maybe if the hench carried rebirth then /*command* would be nice, otherwise your kinda stuck with rezoning. There is however (in other games) an unstuck command that sort of nudges you about a 3 feet (game distance) that usually gets you unstuck. Not hard to impliment from a programming standpoint and i see no real advantage to using the command in either pvp or pve when you're not stuck. Even if there was an exploit it could have a timer/limit on it so you could only use it once per zone/battle or it wouldn't invoke an evade or dodge type attribute like kiting/shadowstepping/necro transversal type skill do.

You can already suicide if you want to. Build a sacrifice necro (BiP) and enter random arenas.
/resign does nothing about getting stuck.

when you are stuck, shadow stepping doesn't work. Otherwise, pretty good idea.

bring a vamp weapon and a 55 armor set XD.
How about instead of adding a suicide option, they fix the problem about people getting stuck in air/ground?

The vamp weapon doesn't always work if you have a heal party in your team.

That would be the most practical solution, however it might not be the easiest to implement. And I'm sick of either getting stuck myself or having a team member get stuck NOW. I don't want to wait months for a fix. Heck I even get cranky when enemies get stuck.

Three cheers for that question! Was doing that mission earlier on my Ranger and a poor Turtle got stuck on her side... We stood around for a couple minutes laughing at it, then moved on and got sad when we really could have used her help (large aggro before first cutscene). Ah well. Finished anyway...
I like the idea of a "Get out of Stuck Free Card" but yes, it'd be better for them to work on fixing the sticking issues rather than spending the same amount of time making a command to get out of the glitch.
